The Lacamas Shores Annual Garage Sale is held the first Saturday in June. The event attracts lots of traffic from outside the neighborhood. Residents will have plenty of buyers for all that great stuff you no longer want.
Lacamas Shores typically has a preview sale for homeowners on Friday evening starting at 5:00 pm. You may choose to participate in both, or just the Saturday sale. If you choose to participate in the Friday evening sale, let your neighbors know by posting on the NextDoor.
Every holiday season, residents of Lacamas Shores showcase the beauty of our neighborhood by decorating their homes in festive style to compete in the annual Holiday Lights contest.
The categories are: Best Display, 2nd Place, 3rd Place and 4th Place. Winners receive a holiday sign for their yard proclaiming the category they won. They also get bragging rights until the next holiday season.
This annual event is well known outside our neighborhood. Many visitors make a drive through our neighborhood one of their Christmas traditions.
Every year, Lacamas Shores volunteers provide a remarkable 4th of July Celebration for all residents. Activities include:
This event is always a lot of fun and a great way to meet neighbors. Fireworks are not permitted in the common area. Volunteers are always welcome.
The Lacamas Shores Canoe/Kayak and Recreation Club memberships run from May to April of each year. The main benefits of membershkp are the unlimited year around use of the club boats, which include 4 aluminum canoes and three kayaks and 2 paddleboards. The boats are stored in the boathouse located by the picnic area and basketball court in the common area adjacent to the boat launch. Paddles, life jackets and carts to move the boats are also available in the boathouse.
Boats are checked out on a first come basis by signing a logbook kept in the boathouse. Club rules include signing a waiver of liability regarding use of the boats and requiring that guests and members under 18 years of age be accompanied by an adult. Members are issued a key for a new lock on the boathouse every year.
The Canoe and Recreation Club holds its annual meeting in April. Memberships are limited to Lacamas Shores residents. For more information, contact John Ulmer.
Those residents who own a boat and wish to use the LS boat dock and park their vehicle in the boat launch area, are required to obtain a free LS boat trailer sticker. The purpose of these stickers is to ensure that only residents park by the boat launch. There are seven parking spaces and they are reserved for residents only. All guests, whether they have their own boats, or are visiting in cars, are not allowed to park by the boat launch.
Residents are welcome to bring a guest and their boat, however you must accompany your guest in their boat on the water if you wish to use the LS boat launch. Also, after guests have launched their boat, they must drive back up the hill to Lacamas Drive and park their vehicle and trailer on the street.
On summer days when many residents want to use the boat launch and park their vehicles in the area, trailers that do not have a LS boat trailer sticker will be booted and the owner will be fined. Also, please do not park your cars in this area during busy season as space is severely limited. You are welcome to drop off anyone that cannot walk down the boat access road, then return to Lacamas Drive to park your vehicle. Please contact Rob Bernardi to obtain a boat trailer sticker.
The Lacamas Shores common area is located by the lake on either side of the boat launch. This is the area we use for our annual Independence Day celebration. There are picnic facilities available including tables and barbecuing areas. These facilities are available to all residents at no charge. If you are planning an event in the picnic area, you must reserve in advance.
The Picnic/Common Area Rules are below. Please read carefully as you will be held responsible for any damage.
